Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm and stress; and to promote health and wellness at your requested intensity.

Swedish Massage

Relaxation Massage is a general whole body massage that will relax the muscles without leaving muscles or sore. This massage will alleviate stiffness and fatigue as well as improve circulation with calm and relaxation strokes at your requested intensity.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

A hands-on technique treating your muscles, ligaments and fascia in order to release adhesions and optimize your muscle function.

Myofascial Release

A safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure, helping release connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Cranial-Sacral Therapy

A gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.

Deep Tissue Massage

This massage uses slow strokes and deep pressure to work on tight areas to release specific muscle tension and restore flexibility. Deep tissue massage is generally slower than swedish, this technique is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury.

Trigger Point Massage

A bodywork technique that involves the application of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body.

Pregnancy Massage

Prone and side lying techniques and specially placed cushions allow a comfortable and relaxing massage without putting any extra strain on mom or baby. Prenatal massage relieves back pain, decreases anxiety, improves sleep, increases circulation and overall well being.

Post-Natal Massage

Postpartum massage is performed in prone or side-lying until whichever is most comfortable for mom. Specially placed cushions allow mom to be face down on her belly and chest if she desires. This massage gives overall relaxation, addresses pain and tension, and it helps the body recover from the rigors of childbirth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Must I be completely undressed?

You should undress to your desired level of comfort. Some clients prefer to be completely undressed, while the others prefer to keep their undergarments on. Some clients choose to be completely dressed in loose fitting clothes. This also works. It is completely up to you. You will undress and dress in the privacy of your massage room and will be securely covered by a blanket and a sheet during your massage session.

Will I be covered during the session?

You will be properly covered or draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. No areas will be exposed without your consent. You should always let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable for any reason during your massage session.

What is included in the session time?

A session consists of the massage, time for you to dress and undress and time to communicate with the therapist to make your massage truly customized. Each time you visit we will go over any areas you want us to focus on. This is done to ensure each and every massage session you receive from us meets or exceeds your expectations.

How much should I tip?

Many clients are unsure if and/or how much they should tip their massage therapist. We recommend you reflect on the level of customer service you have received. Our therapists love what they do and your tip may reflect your appreciation for their service.

How often should I receive a massage?

For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. If you are in a state of acute pain, utilizing massage as part of a rehabilitation program, twice weekly may be appropriate. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic wellness.

What does a massage therapist’s license or certification mean?

A license means that a massage therapist has met the requirements and paid the fee to legally practice massage in your city, county and/or state. To obtain a license, a massage therapist will usually have to complete a minimum number of training hours at an accredited or accepted school or training center and will have to undergo a full background check prior to receiving that license. Each state has specific licensing and/or certification requirements for massage therapists.

What parts of my body will be massaged?

You and your massage therapist will discuss the desired outcome of your session. This will determine which parts of your body require massage. A typical full body session will include work on your back, glutes, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders. You will not be touched on or near your genitals (male or female) or breasts (female). Your practitioner will only work where you are comfortable.

What should I do during my massage?

Make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm).  Many people close their eyes and completely relax. Your therapist will ask if you would like deeper or lighter pressure, but also please feel free to let them know.

Are there any medical conditions that would make massage inadvisable?

It is very important that you inform your massage therapist of any health problems, especially any current, or recent infections. If you have suffered a recent acute injury, please inform your therapist. You should also inform them of any medications you are taking.

What is the cancellation policy?
